Warehouse Solutions - Features & Functions
Inbound
RF Navigator's inbound functions enable efficient and accurate receipt of material as well as verification and validation against purchase orders, work orders, return authorizations, ASN's, etc.  Expected receipt information may be directly entered into RF Navigator WMS or may be downloaded into the system from an external source, such as EDI or your business system.  Receipt materials are identified, verified, and directed through the use of radio frequency (RF) terminals, or PC's with scanners and bar code technology to expedite the receiving processes while improving accuracy.
Sampling of RF Navigator Warehouse Management System Inbound Features:
  • Configurable receipt types enable you to receive material in the most efficient manner to meet your business requirements.
  • Configure receiving to confirm various data, including: order number, product number, lot number, serial number, supplier, manufacturer, quantity, packing slip number, invoice number, expiration date, manufactured date, carrier, weight, volume, cost, etc.
  • Inbound material can be stored directly or staged for put-away.
  • Cross docking allows you to direct material from the receiving dock to the shipping dock, eliminating several material movements,  This reduces unnecessary warehouse movements and leads to enhanced customer service.
  • Lot control is initiated in the receiving process.  You can track supplier lot numbers or the system can automatically generate lot numbers for material at the time of receipt.
  • You can receive and track consigned inventory.
  • Quality control/Inspection Functionality
  • Bar-coded product labels printed on demand.
  • Supports purchase order printing, with purchase order and stock code information in barcode format to support quicker, more accurate receiving of material without bar codes.
  • Supports receipts in multiple units of  measure.
  • Vendor auditing may be recorded during the receiving process.
  • Customer return functionality allows you to confirm that the material returned was shipped against a customer order and enables tracking of damaged material.
  • Automated notification when "hot" material is received.  If material is required for shipping or production, the system notifies the operator that receipt is "hot" and directs material to be moved to appropriate area.
  • Offers various types of received material reports.
  • Supports receipt corrections.
  • Update your business system about receipts in real-time, giving better information for order entry and customer service.

Warehousing
The RF Navigator Warehouse Management System enables a paperless environment for Put-Away, Location Management, Replenishment, Inspection and Cycle Counting functions.  Materials are stored based on configurable strategies, and operators are directed through their tasks using RF terminals.  These automated warehousing functions increase inventory accuracy and maximize space utilization, while improving overall operational efficiency.  Most importantly, you know where material is at all times, in real-time.
Sampling of RF Navigator Warehouse Management System Inbound Features:
  • Configurable movement types enable you to adjust material movement functions to your business requirements.
  • Verification of material movement by barcode scanning increases accuracy and productivity.
  • Supports multiple storerooms and storage zones.
  • Storage zones and locations are configurable.  Various location types are possible, including: inbound staging; primary pick fronts (dedicated locations), overflow (random locations that accommodate bulk, full case, broken case, full pallet, bay storage, non-stock, etc); interim staging; order consolidation packing; shipping.
  • Maintains volume of each stock code and storage location, improving space utilization.
  • Supports multiple units of measure.
  • On-line stock locator tracks materials and all times and promotes FIFO material flow.
  • System or operator-directed put-away.
  • User-defined put-away criteria includes: storage zone (primary, random, by hazardous); ABC classifications; lot number & expiration date requirements.
  • Indicates whether inbound material is needed for picking, enabling the user to stage the material for easier access (notifying user of cross docking opportunity).
  • Directs put-away operator to verify information (stock code, quantity) entered by receiver.
  • Directs put-away operator to consolidation opportunities, increasing storage utilization.
  • Directs put-away in location sequence for multiple less-than-pallet receipts.
  • Directs re-warehousing tasks based on ABC classification of material and location.
  • Allows material on inspection hold to be placed in regular storage, eliminating the need for a separate holding area while keeping material unavailable for picking and shipping.
  • Integrates replenishment with put-away for direct replenishment of primary  locations.
  • Location/Inventory Adjustments.
  • Intra-facility moves promote flexible product flow while maintaining accuracy and visibility of in-transit material.
  • Replenishing: integrated with put-away logic; user-defined replenish trigger ensures prompt replenishment; priority based; replenish quantity determined by user-defined criteria.
  • Cycle counting: blind counts by location sequence; % counted weekly defined by management; opportunity counts (determined by configurable triggers).
